I beat menopause symptoms with exercises and supplements

I was happy when I learned that I was nearing my menopausal stage. That meant menstruation pads would no longer inconvenience me. Moreover, that meant less monthly expense for me. I was 52 when I stopped bleeding.

I thought I would be happier. But then came this night sweats and hot flushes that would come at an unexpected period. I was in an air-conditioned room and everybody felt cool except me because perspiration was running in my face.

I didn’t know what was happening to me at the time. For me that was so unusual.

At bedtime, I couldn’t sleep. It would be in the early hours of the morning before I could sleep. This was followed by anxiety; my heart would beat fast as if something was going to happen. The worst part was the setting in of depression. I lost joy working at home.

Meeting friends or relatives was not a pleasant occasion for me. All I could think of was sleep, sleep, sleep, nothing but sleep, as if I was escaping something. And not only that, I had lost interest in sex. Who wouldn’t? It was a painful experience, not a pleasurable one because of vaginal dryness.

Until I got into a material on menopause on how to deal with menopause. I had to exercise, take supplements and face menopause head on with the knowledge on menopause symptoms and what to do about it. With this knowledge, coupled by spiritual growth, I was able to go through life overcoming menopause.

My only problem now is my bones, which showed after a scan that I am osteopenic, a condition going towards osteoporosis. I noticed that my height went down from 4’10 ½” to 4”, meaning I shrunk by ½” in height.

Relief came at my age of 54 or two years after the symptoms appeared. Overall, my condition has improved. From a rate of 1 to 10, I can say I am on the 8th level. I am a married woman.
